Can you help me write a diary entry for John Quincy Adams?

Holly - 2008-11-15 18:37:15 - History

For part of my 8th grade project, I have to write a diary entry written by John Quincy Adams on Inauguration Day. If you could just write a few sentences regarding that, it would be great. Thank you, all help is appreciated. :)

Well, I'm not going to write this for you (this would technically be plagiarism), but here are some things you should know about him: -He was quite under-sensitive to criticism. Think about how this attitude would come across when he'd be addressing supporters of Andrew Jackson. -Know how he won the election. Do some research about Henry Clay; he has a great deal to do with it. Also note how Jackson's supporters called his win the "corrupt bargain." -Learn about what it means to be a Hamiltonian, as Quincy-Adams was one. Jackson was a Jeffersonian, by the way. -Know about some of his policies. This ties into him being a Hamiltonian. I hope that helps!

Why don't you read your textbook and learn a little about the man? He's quite interesting. Plus, you'll actually learn something. Stupidity is never attractive.

Dear diary, Dad looks very old and sick today. I wish he were healthy so I could punch him in the face for naming me Quincy. I can do that now because I am the president. I would also hit him for helping to pass the fascist Alien and Sedition Acts. I miss my mom. And our cat, snowball. But especially my mom, she was really hot. If she were alive, my first presidential act would be to make incest legal. Oh well, at least we still have our servants and slaves! I don't know where we'd be without them! I sure hope there aren't any slave uprisings on my watch . . . I would hate to have to destroy my fellow countrymen's property.
